I wanted to share a couple of cards that I finally had time to make.

This one was for a friends anniversary!

This one is soooo easy and quick!  Just run it through the cuttlebug!

I have a few more things to add but I have not taken photos yet.

AHA MOMENT!!

Ok...so....I have discovered something!

I think it is a great idea...at least for me!

I have 2 little chihuahuas...and they shed!!  So I use a lint roller a lot!!

But...I hate having to find the end of the next sticky piece!  (GRRRR!)

Anyhoooo....I finally figured out how to find it easier!

Here is a (gross) picture of the roller full! (I did the mat at the front door
before vacuuming so you could see it)

Where is the end?  That is my beef!

Here is a new one.
Fold up the corner and stick it down.

Now roll...ewwww...gross!
But look...it is very clear where the edge is because you did this!

Pull it off and look what is left over.  A 'dirty' corner!
So now you know exactly where the next piece is!! Fold that over and continue rolling!!!

Not tooting my own horn...and I am sure that someone out there thought of this loooong ago!

But it is an AHA moment for me!!

Hope you liked it!!

Thanks for stopping in...hope to be crafting & sharing as soon as the move is all done!!!

Wednesday, January 2, 2013

Hello again! It's been awhile...I know!

Busy...busy!

I want to share 2 things this morning!

First....a summer project that I did and have only just got around to posting it!

My basement stairs. TA-DA!  This is them...unfinished!

This next photo is during...

As they were drying...

Now for the stain and finished with loads of layers of polyurethane!

And all finished!!

And now...why not do the table!

During...the drying process!

And all done!
(Not the greatest photo)

So...my stairs and bar table are all done. I love them!

This is a paper bag technique that I used. It's inexpensive...covers flaws...and is
so unique!!!

You can also use colored tissue paper on some projects. I once did a coffee table in black.  It looks just like leather when it was done!

Well....if you have any questions...please send a comment!

~NOW~
the next thing that I wanted to share...

A website!

It's our business website. We have been in business for about 7 years but I have never done a website.......till now!

go to

mideka.wix.com/just4starters

(Sorry...it won't link up because my right click on this mouse is not working!!!)

OK...that is all from me!

I hope to be entering challenges again soon....as soon as the house sells and we set
up my craft studio again!

It's depressing that it has been all packed up for a couple of months!
~sniffsniff~

Well....take care!

New item!!

Well....here is something that I have not shared with you before.
(at least I don't think I have)

I make diaper cakes, diaper bikes & diaper prams for baby gifts.

I was working on ideas for a diaper truck & a friend asked me to make a truck for a wedding!  I never had that request before.

The couple loves monster trucks so that is what they would love.

Here are some step by step photos of it!

As always...I like to be sure that everything I use is a useable item.  So I used
bath towels and baskets.

It is hard to see on the photo...I used some piping for roll bar (?) in the back of the truck.  Towels for the tires.

I took apart some of those fake candles and used the 'guts' in some little plastic containers.  If you put you finger behind...there was a little switch to turn on the
"headlights'

License plate!

Back of the truck.
Box in the back to hold the wedding cards. They didn't really want any bows but I had to put a few!

For this...I cut the letters on the cricut.
The silver background was run through the cuttlebug.

The end result!!

It is very different & I hope they loved it.

Well...
That's it for now!
Take care!!

Hope we move soon and then I will be able to craft again!!
